Abstract

This section presents several humorous trade-show jargon. Freebieoflage is the over application of free buttons and pins, creating an additional layer of clothing. Spielshirt is a t-shirt won by sitting through a 15-minute presentation. Proshilleration is the uncanny way vendor sales specialists seem to multiply the deeper you travel into a given vendor's booth. Dumbcierge is the often less-than-helpful helpdesk personnel on the show floor. Fragsploitation is the boring hardware vendors who set up multiple first-person-shooter games to demonstrate performance. Kioskiddies are the show attendees who actually use sponsor kiosks to check e-mail and conduct business. Walkienotalkies are the show attendees who wear walkie-talkies that appear to be just for show. Flooreographers are the show attendees who wander the aisles, their noses buried in massive vendor-booth maps.
