Abstract
- From the perspective of statistical performance, this correspondence presents an analytical framework to study the interference coordination schemes in two-tier networks with closed-access small-cell base stations (SBSs). We assume the SBSs adopt the combination of power control, access control, and coordinated beamforming to suppress the intertier interference to the macro users (MUEs). Using stochastic geometry, we derive the expressions for the average data rate of users in different tiers. Based on the analytical results, we discuss the optimal transmission schemes of SBSs to maximize the average data rate of small-cell users while guaranteeing the performance of the MUEs. We find that access control is always a suboptimal scheme under the network model in this paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
