Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the added value of the fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequence in the diagnosis of lissencephaly using fetal MRI. Visualisation of lamination and gyration were assessed, and adequacy to GA determined, as well as it's degree of certainty (0-5) in the diagnosis. By improving visualisation of brain lamination, FLAIR sequences over the fetal brain may help in the diagnosis of migrational disorders, and specifically of lissencephaly.
