Abstract

In recent years, linguistic research has been focusing more on the analysis of language usage from various sperspectives. Among those approaches, the socio pragmatic one regards language usage as a real, immediate ephenomenon affected by social context in a given situation. The sestudiesincludethoseon verbal politeness, and also on it so ther face, i.e., impoliteness, violence and aggressiveness, which in creasing levels have fortunately been accompanied by more research on them. A vast number of researchers of the Spanish language have conducted studies on the characteristics of such utterances and the variations in their use through out different regions of the Hispanic world. This paper aims to analyze, from the conversation al analysis perspective, the use of violent forms of address by speakers of the borough of Distrito José Martí Sur A and B; thus, contributing to the study of language usage in the Eastern region.
