Abstract

Highlights • Taking advantages of spectrum absorption theory, a novel non-contact gas flow rate detection method was proposed. • The detection method could measure the flow rate of component gas in gas mixture. • The flow rate sensor had the ability in anti-disturbance from environment, and would not destroy the flow field. Abstract To measure the flow rate of each gas component in gas mixture, a novel non-contact sensing method is proposed based on spectrum absorption theory. By using the Finite Element Analysis Method (FEAM), the process of the proposed sensing method is simulated, which proves the feasibility of the proposed method. Then, the further numerical analysis results prove that the non-contact flow rate sensing method could identify the flow rates of each gas components in gas mixture with different flow widths and rates. The maximum relative error is demonstrated to be 9.7%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
