Abstract

The paper presents a new method to solve the electromagnetic field in 2-D cylindrical geometries. The method is based on the analytical solution of the magnetic potential. The method can be used to compute inductor or transformer winding resistance or leakage inductance with high accuracy up to several megahertz. The proposed method assumes no simplification of the problem, and then achieves higher accuracy than the classical method such as homogenization techniques. The method requires no meshing unlike finite-element analysis (FEA) resulting in shorter computation time. The method is compared with FEA on the bifilar line. The method overperform existing methods in terms of accuracy and computation time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
