Abstract
- Abstract In this paper, a non-iterative large-solution-area fluorescence-lifetime-extraction algorithm applying to the mono-exponential model have been proposed. This algorithm consists of two parts. One is a preprocessing of the decay histogram through first comparing the ratio of the photon counts of the first two original time channels with the corresponding thresholds, and then merging the appropriate number of time channels. The other is a fluorescence-lifetime-extraction formula, which is deduced by expressing the photon counts as an integral based on Boole's rule. Simulation results show its solvable range is 0.003<τ/MW<0.9 with 225 original time channels. With such a large solvable area, the proposed algorithm has applicable value in fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
