Abstract
- The article discusses information about risperidone, which is in a class of medications called atypical antipsychotics. It has indications for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and in adolescents aged 13 to 17. There is possibility for an increased risk of rapid weight gain in children and adolescents. Doses are started low and increased slowly based on clinical response and side effects.
