Abstract

Coordinated development by coupling land use intensity with socio-economic factors can promote the sustainable development of cities effectively. We applied the multi-factor comprehensive evaluation method based on the entropy value method to appraise land use intensity and socio-economic development levels in nine categories of cities in the Jilin Province. On the basis of this, coupling coordinative degree and space autocorrelation model were employed to quantitatively analyze the spatio-temporal coupling coordinated development status between the two. The result indicates that the intensive land utilization and socio-economic development levels show a gradual upward trend in all the nine levels of cities in the Jilin Province. Moreover, it appears that the center was spatially higher than the east and the west from 2005 to 2015. From 2005 to 2015, the degree of coordination between intensive land use and socio-economic development in various cities in the Jilin Province was gradually optimized with some effort, while the relative development degree gradually decreased. From the view of the spatio-temporal coupling development status, coupling compatibility and geographic mobility appear obscure during the study period in the nine levels of cities in the Jilin Province. Local analysis demonstrates that Jilin and Changchun belong to a high value polarization region, while Siping, Liaoyuan, Baishan, and Tonghua belong to a low value subsidence area. Songyuan has become a high value polarization region from the low limit area, Yanji has shifted from the non-significant distribution into high-value diffusion distribution, while Baicheng shows nonsignificant distribution overall.
