Abstract

The Cambridge Mindreading Test - CAM is one of the most used instruments in the assessment of social cognition and the Theory of Mind (ToM). However, despite being widely used in the evaluation of these skills, there are very few studies that inquires into the normative scores in the Spanish-speaking population. The aim of this paper is to present the normative data of the Cambridge Mindreading Test-CAM, in a population of young adults in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. 384 healthy subjects taken from the general population between 18 and 35 years old, were evaluated through the Cambridge Mindreading Test - CAM in its 50 ítems Spanish version adapted by the Escuela Argentina de Neurociencias. Average scores are obtained according to level of schooling, gender and socioeconomic status. The general average score of correct answers obtained for the CAM-Test, was of 29.40 with standard deviation of 5.69. No significant differences were observed according to gender and socioeconomic status. Specific scores were obtained according to socioeconomic status and gender. The normative data of the CAM-Test in its Spanish version for the population of young adults are provided, from the evaluation of subjects without pathologies, according to level of schooling, gender and socioeconomic status.
