Abstract

Objective To observe the changes in M2 macrophages by detecting the changes in M2-type macrophagespecific markers and gene expression levels in mice infected with alveolar echinococcosis. Methods Forty-eight female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into the control group and model group. In the model group, we used the vesicles in the BALB/c body to prepare a suspension for injection, and the infection model of the alveolar echinococcosis was completed by intraperitoneal injection. The control group was only injected with normal saline. Eight mice were sacrificed respectively at 90, 180 and 300 d after infection, and the liver was removed. One part was fixed in formaldehyde solution for HE and immunohistochemical staining. The other part was frozen and the relative value of Fizzl mRNA was detected by qRTPCR. Results Compared with the control group, the expression of M2 macrophages’ specific marker CD163 increased significantly at 90 d, reached a peak at 180 d, and then decreased, but it was still high(P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the overall trend of M2 macrophages’ specific gene Fizz1 mRNA expression was similar to that of its specific marker CD163(P<0.05). Conclusion The M2 macrophages in the liver of the mice infected with alveolar echinococcosis increase in the middle and late stages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
