Abstract

The paper reports the historical and recent composition of the vascular flora of the Nature reserve Doubrava (PLA Litovelské Pomoraví, Central Moravia). Altogether 316 taxa of vascular plant taxa were found by recent research at the locality. From these, 24 taxa are considered to be under-threat in the Czech Republic. The most interesting species occurring at the area of Doubrava are Carex michelii, Dactylorhiza fuchsii, Epipactis purpurata, Poa remota and Thalictrum lucidum. Several regionally rare species have vanished from the reserve during the last 30 years mostly due to vegetation changes in the locality. Apart from cultural spruce and pine forests, oak-hornbeam forests similar in composition to Carpathian oak-hornbeam forests (association Carici pilosae-Carpinetum) are the dominant types of vegetation in the territory. Less frequent are ravine and rock outcrop forests (Aceri-Tilietum), broad-leaved floodplain forests (Carici remotae- Fraxinetum) and beech forests (Galio odorati-Fagetum). The most interesting forest types are represented by thermophilous oak forests growing on acidic soils on the southern slopes (Sorbo torminalis-Quercetum) with the occurrence of several thermophilous plant species, and mesic acidophilous oak forests (Luzulo luzuloidis-Quercetum). Vegetation dominated by the tall grass Calamagrostis canescens was recorded on wet soils in local depressions along the railway at the foothill of the Hradisko hill. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
