Abstract: The article presents news briefs as of February 1, 2019. Topics discussed include the IChemE Safety Centre has made IChemE's historic Accident Database available online for anyone to access, free of charge; Shell has opened wells and begun feeding gas to its Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility; and 30th anniversary of Merck which received a prize for chemical engineering students at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).
