Th e article concerns pupils with diagnoses of autistic spectrum disorders who are being educated in normal elementary or secondary schools (most of the pupils concerned have Asperger's syndrome, atypical autism or childhood autism). It considers the functioning of these pupils in their contacts with fellow pupils and teachers and focuses primarily on diffi culties in these contacts that are closely related to the diagnoses.
