Abstract

The article offers information on an approach to recover and enumerate the ova of human roundworm, Ascaris lumbricoides in wastewater and sludge which is responsible for causing health issues. Topics discussed include major cause of ascariasis that include poor sanitation, poor hygiene, and inadequate water supply; and the Tulane method given by United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for detection and enumeration of soil-transmitted helminth ova in wastewater and sludge.
