Abstract

The thermoluminescence (TL) properties of cerium rare earth ion doped strontium yttrium borate (Sr3Y2(BO3)4: Ce) phosphor irradiated with UV radiation were investigated in the present study. Sr3Y2(BO3)4: Ce phosphor was synthetized by the solid-state reaction method and characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermoluminescence techniques. Thermoluminescence measurements were carried out for the phosphor irradiated with UV radiation having 254, 302 and 365 nm wavelength. The dose response and fading properties were examined for the Sr3Y2(BO3)4: Ce phosphor irradiated with UV radiation having 254 nm wavelength. As far as we know there is no earlier work on thermoluminescence properties of these phosphors in literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
