Abstract
- The article discusses a study which examines the Immunoglobulin E (IgE) binding activities of nonspecific lipid transfer proteins (nsLTPs) affected by fatty acid binding. Topics include the impact of fatty acid interaction in the allergenic properties of nsLTPs, the differences in the epitope structure of IgE which led to different, higher and lower IgE binding activities and the changes in the accessibility of the epitopes upon ligand binding.
