Abstract

The article analyzes the effects of economic crises on politics in the European Union (EU) as 2019 elections to the European Parliament approach. The elections will be held in 27 countries committed to staying in the union. Around 400 political parties are expected to participate in the elections, including the European People's Party (EPP), the Christian Social Union and the New Democracy party. A 2018 survey showed that 62 percent of respondents said that EU membership was a good thing.
