Abstract

• The new Zn-MOF was prepared. • The prepared MOF is suitable for loading and unloading of I 2. • The loading and delivery of I 2 were performed using the organic solutions. A new metal-organic framework, [Zn 2 (NDC)(BDT)] n.4DMF (TMU-18) (NDC = 1,6 naphtalenedicarboxylate, BDT = 1,4-benzeneditetrazole) was synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, FT-IR and X-ray crystallography. The thermal stability of compound TMU-18 was studied by thermal gravimetric (TG). TMU-18 was used for loading the I 2 by suspending it in a solution of I 2 in cyclohexane. The delivery of I 2 from TMU-18 performed in ethanol at room temperature. The loading and unloading of I 2 were investigated by UV/vis spectroscopy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
