Abstract

[Objective] In recent years, the sustainable development of ecological and economic systems has become a key area and a hot issue in geography research. [Method]Based on the theory of energy, this paper constructed an evaluation index system for the sustainable development of regional eco-economic systems, and ArcGis software was used to analyze the sustainable development status and regional differences of Shanxi’s eco-economic system in 2016. [Result] (i) In 2016, the sustainable development level of the eco-economic system in Shanxi province was low overall, the energy value of non-renewable resources occupied a dominant position, and the dependency on traditional resources was excessive; (ii) Due to the regional economic development level and region differences in resource reserves, Shanxi province ecological economic system in the social subsystems, economic subsystems and natural subsystems had significant regional differences in energy index measurement ; (iii) From the comprehensive evaluation of sustainable development, the external economy of Xinzhou city had the greatest contribution, the economic development in Jinzhong city had the most vitality and potential, and Yuncheng city had the best indicators of sustainable development. [Conclusion]There are obvious regional differences in the sustainability of the ecological economic system in Shanxi Province, but the development potential is large. Each region should formulate corresponding policies and measures according to local conditions, and strive to improve the system earning capacity and sustainable development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
