Abstract
- The article describes the use of a feminist science studies analytic to explore how the vivisection of a fat, white woman in the documentary "Obesity: The Post Mortem" became acceptable material for a television program, as well as the cultural work performed by such a program. It discusses the significance of the largely positive reviews received by the program from the media and support from regulatory bodies. It examines the effect of the program's use of hegemonic stereotypes about fatness.
