Abstract

We estimate the exponential sum ∑ 1 ≤ n ≤ x e (α n + f 1 (n) + ⋯ + f ℓ (n)) , where α is a real number and f 1 , ... , f ℓ are digital functions; in the spirit of the works of Kim and Berend–Kolesnik. A similar estimate along short intervals is also provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
