Abstract

The C1.25Fe1.75O4 ferrite was prepared by chemical co-precipitation and post annealing at 900°C. The nuclear structure (lattice) and magnetic structure were determined by analyzing the Neutron diffraction patterns. The A and B sublattice magnetic moments confirmed ferrimagnetic order in cubic spinel structure. The net moment is comparable to data from dc magnetic measurement. The system exhibited an anomaly below 100 K, where increase of lattice parameter on decreasing the temperature (negative lattice expansion) is accompanying with the decrease of magnetization curve.
