Abstract
- In this study, it is aimed to examine the tendency to play of children attending to preschool education institutions in terms of various variables. The sample of the study consisted of 298 children between 3-6 years of age in kindergartens of affiliated to Ministry of National Education and independent preschool education institutions in Ağrı city center. "Children's Playfulness Scale (CPS)', developed by Barnett (1990) and adapted to Turkish by Keleş and Yurt (2017), and "Personal Information Form" were used as data collection instruments. The data obtained in the study, firstly, it was analyzed according to the case of meeting the assumption of normality. Since the data showed normal distribution, parametric tests were used. In independent samples t-test and ANOVA test were used. The significance of the data was tested at p<.05 level. According to the findings, preschool children who participated in the study was a moderate tendency to play; it was founded that there was a significant difference in the total and sub-dimension scores' mean of the children's tendency to play according to the variables of gender, number of siblings, mother's educational status, father's educational status, mother's occupational status, father's occupational status and income status of the family. In addition, it was found that there was a significant difference in the total and sub-dimension scores' mean of the children 's tendency to play according to the age variable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
