Abstract

Highlights from the article: Genome-wide analyses of remission on venlafaxine treatment in older adults with late-life depression The objective of this investigation was to conduct a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of late-life depression (LLD) remission after treatment with venlafaxine, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Discussion: Our post-GWAS analyses support the involvement of known processes in synaptic plasticity, as well as, intracellular signaling pathways including MAPK and neutrophins (e.g., BDNF) as being involved in LLD remission on venlafaxine.
