Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To probe into the efficacy of tandanone citrate combined with conventional antihypertensive therapy for hypertension complicated with anxiety. METHODS: Totally 126 patients with hypertension complicated with anxiety admitted into Hebei Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from Feb. 2016 to Feb. 2018 were extracted to be divided into the observation group and the control group via the random number table, with 63 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional antihypertensive therapy, while the observation group received tandospirone citrate on the basis of the control group. The Hamilton’s anxiety scale (HAMA), Hamilton’s depression scale (HAMD), patient health questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and the World Health Organization quality of life brief scale (WHOQOL-BREF) score of two groups were observed before and after treatment, and the differences of serum norepinephrine (NA), neuropeptide Y (NPY), serotonin (5-HT), blood pressure, endothelin 1 (ET-1), endogenous nitric oxide synthetase (eNOS) and nitric oxide (NO) were compared. RESULTS: The total effective rate of the observation group was 96. 83% (61/63), significantly higher than that of the control group [79.37% (50/63)], the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the PHQ-9, HAMA and HAMD scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the WHOQOL-BREF score in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the serum levels of NA, NPY and 5-HT in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the serum levels of eNOS and NO in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and ET-1 was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure between two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of tandanone citrate combined with conventional antihypertensive therapy for hypertension complicated with anxiety is significant, can improve patients’ clinical anxiety.
