Свлачищата „Западни Караманлии“ и „Момчилски рид“ - Балчишко крайбрежие

The considered circus landslides are located 3 km SW of Balchik. They are developed at storeys in the calcareous Miocene sediments, represented by the Euxinograd, Topola and Karvuna Formations. The three steps of the storeys have been formed from the Late Pliocene till now. They are clearly visible in the Zapadni Karamanlii landslide. The upper storeys of the Momchilski Rid landslide were destroyed by the big seismogenic sliding in 1901. The tectonic conditions of the area, the geological and geomorphological structure of the landslides, their origin and geodynamic model, hydrogeological conditions and geotechnical parameters of the lithological varieties are discussed.
