- Describes works of art and art objects from Europe 1700-1900 which are part of New York City-based Metropolitan Museum of Art acquisitions for 1997-1998. Includes the painting `The Stalled Procession,' by Claude Gillot; Allegorical carving called `Time Ravishing Youth and Beauty,' which is German or Austrian, from the 1st half of the 18th century; Snaphaunce hunting rifle from gunstocker Jonas Schertiger.
