Abstract: The article reports on a ground and air assault launched by the Turkish military against a Syrian militia that has been a U.S. ally in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on October 9, 2019. The assault was initiated days after U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to the operation. According to the Rojava Information Center, at least seven people were killed in the attacks.
