Abstract

The article offers work of W.H. Auden, an English-American poet is presented. It highlights that Auden's memorability is about the sonic elements of verse experimented with other forms in poems like "They," crafting more complicated stanzas to figure contemporary concerns about freedom and order while rejecting the memorability of oratorical style and mnemonic structure; and his repeated returns to literary-historical amnesia in poems like "The Horatians."
