Chemical production usually is dangerous because of its flammability, explosion, high temperature and pressure, toxic and harmful. In recent years, chemical safety accidents occurred frequently, and have brought huge losses to the safety of the country and people ' s lives and property. Chemical safety and environmental protection is an important professional contents for chemical engineering in universities. It is necessary to strengthen chemical safety education and cultivate students ' safety and environmental awareness, and escort our country ' s production and environmental safety. In view of the current development of new situations and the problem of separating the theory and practice, according to our teaching practice, the following improvement measures are proposed: to improve the professional quality of teachers, to strengthen the analysis of modern industrial accident cases in classroom teaching, to utilize modern industrial safety simulation technology, and to adopt a comprehensive evaluation and assessment method. Through the development of practical teaching in the past six years, the ability of students to analyze and solve practical problems has been greatly improved.
