Abstract

The article discusses the similar lack of ethical and moral justification for withholding bone marrow or hematopoietic cell transplantation from patients with inadequate social support. It mentions about allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation performed using hematopoietic progenitor cells from a volunteer donor for patients with high-risk relapsed or refractory leukemias or for patients with certain nonmalignant hematological disorders.
