Abstract

Cover Feature: Four-Center Nodes: Supramolecular Synthons Based on Cyclic Halogen Bonding (Chem. Eur. J. 60/2019) B XB-based nodes as supramolecular synthons b : The X'-aryl isocyanide I trans i -[PdBr SB 2 sb (CNC SB 6 sb H SB 4 sb -4-X') SB 2 sb ] (X'=Br, I) and nitrile I trans i -[PtX SB 2 sb (NCC SB 6 sb H SB 4 sb -4-X') SB 2 sb ] (X/X'=Cl/Cl, Cl/Br, Br/Cl, Br/Br) complexes exhibit similar structural motif in the solid state, which is determined by hitherto unreported four-center nodes formed by cyclic halogen bonding. Crystal engineering, four-center nodes, halogen bonding, noncovalent interactions, supramolecular synthons. [Extracted from the article]
