Abstract
- The article focuses on African-American singer and political activist Paul Robeson's 1956 tour of Canada gave him a welcome respite from his treatment at home. It mentions U.S. State Department had decided to grant permission for Robeson to go to Canada and recalled that the Canadian authorities originally issued a travel permit. It also mentions Robeson also made an impromptu visit to perform for children at the United Jewish People's Order.
