Abstract

A 66-year-old independent gentleman presented to the emergency department with sudden onset of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, fevers and having not passed bowel motions or flatus for 2 days. Histopathology revealed an abrupt transition from normal bowel to perforation supporting a perforation secondary to a foreign body. Gravel gut - small bowel perforation due to a blunt ingested foreign body. [Extracted from the article]
