Abstract
- In this paper, an improved floating interleaved Boost converter is proposed for fuel cell applications. In order to achieve zero-ripple input current and keeping others merits such as high voltage gain and low voltage stress of the conventional floating interleaved Boost converter (FIBC) unchanged, a pair of input current ripple cancellation networks composed of a small inductor and a small capacitor are added into the conventional FIBC. Then, the operating principle and the steady-state and dynamic performances of the proposed converter are performed and compared with the conventional FIBC. Finally, a 240 W experimental prototype has been created for further evaluating the expected performances of the proposed converter. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the input current ripple of the proposed converter can be totally removed in all power range without significantly increasing the current stress and power loss.
