Abstract

Reports on the impending introduction by major computer companies of servers using the 32/64-bit Nocona version of Intel's Xeon processor, which Intel introduced to compete with a similar product from Advance Micro Devices Inc. (AMD). Scheduled launchings in 2004 by Dell, Hewlett-Packard and IBM; Sun Microsystems' expansion of it server line based on AMD's 32/64-bit Opteron chip.
