Abstract

Fe3N@C doped with B nanomaterials were prepared by the gas–solid method based on ethylenediamine nitridation. The materials show rod‐like morphology, and the Fe3N nanoparticles are coated by a graphite carbon layer with a thickness of 5 nm. Moreover, B‐doped Fe3N@C nanomaterials exhibit good soft magnetic properties. They are powerful catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction in 1.0 m KOH. The overpotential of the 20% B‐doped Fe3N@C magnetic nanomaterial at 10 mA cm−2 is only 216 mV, and Tafel slope is 133 mV dec−1. They are promising as a non‐noble metal catalyst for practical hydrogen evolution reaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
