Some Comment on Methodological Developments innthe Last Quarter-Century.

Within the confines of a relatively brief paper, it is practically impossible to give coverage to all things that could come under the heading of methodology that have developed during the last quarter-century. The following comments, thus, will be directed more to reflecting some major developments and applying a small amount of criticism in a few areas where it seems warranted. Description of particular techniques will be avoided; on the other hand, it is very difficult to think of methodological developments except through the systematization and quantification of the science, and we shall follow the path of least resistance.
