Abstract
- GOP businesswoman Karen Saull announced Tuesday she is dropping her bid to succeed retiring Democratic Senator Bob Graham, the Vero Beach Press Journal reported. High-profile state Republicans, including former HUD Secretary Martinez, earlier in the week said that they did not know much about Saull, who had filed papers to run in April. Saull announced her intention to withdraw in an e-mail to the Press Journal. "The Republican Party has closed me out," Saull wrote. Along with Martinez, the Republican field includes former Representative Bill McCollum, state House Speaker Johnnie Byrd and Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman.
