Abstract

B Background: b We aimed to compare the performances of the AJCC 8th and 7th ed. staging systems using a multi-institutional cohort of patients undergoing hepatectomy for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (PHCC) B Results: b While the 7th ed. of AJCC T-category (c-index:0.595) performed better than the 8th ed. (c-index:0.580), c-index for AJCC N-category 7th and 8th ed. was 0.592 and 0.599, respectively. Using the AJCC 7th ed. staging system, the 5-year OS for stages I, II, and IVa was 71.4%, 36.3%, and 34.7%, while no patients in stages IIIa, IIIb, and IVb survived 5 years.
