A noção de serviço público em Antonio Pasquali. Itinerário de um conceito.

The objective of this article is to give an account of the ways in which Antonio Pasquali (1929) proposed to think of the mass media as a public service. To fulfill this purpose, theoretically and methodologically, Pasquali's intellectual itinerary is reconstructed from the intellectual history and the sociology of culture. The bringing together of both perspectives allows us to identify not only the ideas of the Venezuelan theorist but also to restore their social conditions of production, and to identify possible ruptures and conceptual displacements in their proposal to build a public radio and television service.
