Abstract

Clearly, given values for renal plasma clearance (CLren) and unbound fraction (Fr), deductions from CLren = Fr × GFR + CLsec - CLre with respect to tubular secretion (CLsec) and reabsorption (CLre) critically depend on the GFR. As long as secretion, in particular secretion with the involvement of OAT2 and OAT3 cannot be ruled out, sex differences in rats have to be interpreted with highest caution with respect to extrapolating the results to humans. 7 Kim S-J, Choi E-J, Choi G-W, Lee Y-B, Cho H-Y.
