Abstract: The article focuses on a study which indicates that planet Mars can offer direct evidence for geochemical conditions similar to prebiotic planet Earth whose early record has been erased. Topics discussed include the Jezero crater as the chosen landing site for U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration's (NASA's) Mars 2020 rover, morphing of chemistry into biology and the importance of the environmental processes in directing the origin of life.
