Abstract

A case study is presented of a 53-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital with progressively worsening fever, headache, and neck stiffness. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis revealed the presence of 321 leukocytes and elevated albumin concentration, and culture and polymerase chain reaction for several viruses were negative as was antibody testing for Borrelia. She was treated for Borrelia miyamotoi.
