Abstract

The Second Vatican Council produced a profound renewal in Catholic doctrine, not in its content but in the way it is thought and presented. The individual documents, although dedicated for the most part to large and particular themes, nonetheless - and often implicitly - yield interesting prompts for reflection, on those themes as well as related ones. Such is the case for the Dei Verbum, which is primarily concerned with revelation and its transmission and which nonetheless introduces a profound theological reflection on the nature of the Church and of individuals in its history. The present article draws out from these indications the theological presuppositions of the community that spontaneously arises from revelation, namely, the Church. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
