Abstract

The article reports that technology company Microsoft Inc. was one of the major employers in the U.S. to insist that their employees work from home early on to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Topics covered include the alarm raised by Microsoft's chief executive, Satya Nadella, after hearing the news of a coronavirus outbreak near its headquarters in Seattle, Washington, and an additional two weeks of paid time off given to employees who needed to watch their children.
