Abstract
- The article focuses on poet-critic T. S. Eliot and his animus or conviction in criticizing poetry. Topics discussed are Eliot's conviction on mutual adjustment that brings past and presents into harmony or conformity and effected by criticism, the weak point of impressionistic criticism according to Eliot, and his belief that critics who lay down rules about how poetry should be written incites defiance in the reader.
