Sentinel lymph node biopsy in high‐risk ductal carcinoma in situ.

The article discusses sentinel lymph node biopsy in high‐risk ductal carcinoma in situ. Topics include the use of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in the context of preoperative needle biopsy diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is still a debate; the incidences of IDC and of positive SLNB were calculated in the whole series; and patients with preoperative clinico‐pathologic diagnosis of DCIS presented an IDC on the pathologic examination of the mastectomy specimen.
