Abstract: The article reveals that several large companies with financial or legal problems have received payouts under the Paycheck Protection Program, a loan program designed to help small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. It reports that several businesses have collected money even though they have raised funds from private means, while others have given top executives with seven-figure pay packages. Flaws in the small-business loan program are discussed.
